Dr. Lear, board certified in both dermatology and Mohs surgery, was the first fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon in Salem, Corvallis and McMinnville and has personally completed over 30,000 Mohs surgeries. In 2017, he founded Frontier Dermatology’s ACGME-accredited Mohs Surgery Fellowship Program (one of two such programs in the Pacific Northwest) in which he trains one Mohs surgeon per year.
In 2015, Dr. Lear founded a medical device company focused on challenging wound closures which has commercialized three medical devices used extensively in orthopedic, plastic and dermatologic surgery. He has over 10 granted US patents, over 50 peer-reviewed publications and several book chapters, most of which are focused on challenging wound closures and medical devices.
In his spare time, Dr. Lear enjoys running and spending time with his wife and two daughters.
